Day After Our 37th Anniversary

We were planning to away for a quiet weekend for our anniversary.  But it did not turn out that way.  First of all, Cynthia and Joshua decided to get baptized an confirmed on 8/30 and Daddy invited the people at retreat to come to our place for BBQ on 8/29.  On top of that, Adrienne from our church invited us to attend a dinner fundraising for Gum Moon on 8/28. She was awarded the Carol Lee award for her outstanding long time participation with the organization.  Therefore, we are happy to celebrate in town. We know that it would be a great weekend.

On our day, 8/27, Daddy took me to have dim sum for lunch.  He handed me an envelope with two tickets to see Josh Groban in October and season tickets to Berkeley basketball.  Wow, that is quite exciting. Daddy thinks that we have a chance to go to Final Four.  We will see.   Happy Anniversary!

But, I just want to share our experience on Friday with you.  The dinner was at Far East Restaurant, typical Chinese dinner. The company was great.  Adrienne sat us with her children and her long time best friend Lois.  Her husband and she are retired and they took up wine making as a hobby.  She brought their wine to share with us.  By the way, her husband did not come because he was too busy to get ready for harvest.  They named their wine "Peacock". The wine are pretty good.  Daddy won a silent auction of three bottles.  Lois invited us to go soon to help harvesting.  We accepted it and we think I would be interesting.  The party ended around 10:30 and we were ready to go home and looking forward to the BBQ next day.  We usually turned on the radio to KCBS when we drive home. But since Giants won, Daddy turned to KNBR so we stuck on 101 and tried to find our way out and finally got home around 1am.  Also if I looked at my text, we would be good because Jaime warned us.  I wanted to pee so badly.  It was all because a FEDEX truck hit a pole and a live wire fell on 101.  All lanes were closed in Burlingame.  Thank God that no one was hurt but a lot of angry people.  When we were leaving 101, I turned around and saw a sea of RED.  We are very thankful,

Hi family:

Is anyone reading this blog? We have not visited this blog almost one year ago. There were a lot things happened. The preparation for Gideon's arrival was great. I had a lot of fun planning the baby shower for CC and Garrett. I went a little crazy in buying lots of baby stuff. It was great to see Daddy and Garrett getting the crib ready. God is good.

It was tough that Grandpa did not get to hold Gideon. But, he laughed out loud when he saw Gideon's pictures. Grandmas was so sad that she lost a lot of weight. But, she is getting better and eating a little more healthy food. God is good.

In January, we had a crazy road trip in New Zealand wine tasting. It was a great trip. Maria and Raymond were so generous that they paid most of our dinners. We had a wonderful time. Daddy even wrote a book detailing the trip. And I took over 1000 pictures. And we finally saw a kiwi bird. God is good.

Got a free trip to Las Vegas for a marketing for time share from Hilton American Express card. Crazily, we bought a small property that we can stay in Hilton Hotels which I love. We were happy about our decision. But, right after we came back to work, I was laid off. That was a big blow because we just spent a lot of money. I was a little worry not having a second income for me to spend. I accepted the fact that I might not get another job. But, after about 2 months, I got a job offer in about three days. I was a property management accountant again. I got to learn a new software and did a little more and even a little raise. God is good.

I am very happy at my job right now. I got to see Gideon, CC and Garret through Skype. I kept in touch with Dustin and Valene even though they are very busy planning their move to their pastor's house to start a new ministry. By the way, we are very proud of them taking such a big step of faith in God. We got to have three meals with Jaime every Sunday. God is good.

Even when I feel that my live has been overflowed by God's continous love and blessings, I know that there are still more. It is just like the song by Don Moen. God has been a big part of my life. I thank Him every day of my life. I pray that I will be still obedient and serve Him according to His will. God is good.

love, mom

Long time no hear

I think our notre famille blog has been overshadowed by the seasonofthechans. Nobody wrote anything since Christmas, 2009. But it is good because our attention is all focused on Baby Chan now.

Daddy and I had a great time driving up to Seattle. It was great to see CC and Garrett. We bought a crib as our gift to Baby Chan. As Daddy was putting up the crib with Garrett, it reminded me the times that Daddy was building the drawers, tables and other things with you kids. A family builds together, stays together. Once in while, I love to remember things that we have done before together........our precious moments. So please, no matter how busy you all are, drop us a line or email to let us know what's new with you. I don't just want to remember but I also want to live it. love, mom xoxoxo
